Who we are

Charlotte Crawl Space Pro is a local referral service for crawl space encapsulation, vapor barriers, dehumidifiers and related work in the Charlotte, North Carolina area. We do not perform the work ourselves: when you request an inspection, we pass your request to an independent, local contractor who contacts you to schedule and perform the inspection and any work you hire them for. This website, (704) 504-7283, and the text messaging program described below are operated by HotStart Labs ("we", "us"), the registered sender of our text messages. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who receives it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

Information you give us. When you request a free inspection through our form we collect what you enter: your name, phone number, email address, service address, the type of work, and a description of the problem. When you call us, we collect your caller ID and the details you provide during the call. Calls may be answered by an automated assistant and may be recorded and transcribed so we can act on your request.

Information collected automatically. Our servers log the IP address and basic request details for each visit and form submission. We use cookieless, first-party analytics served from our own domain (page views and button clicks, with no raw IP addresses stored; opt out at any time at charlottecrawlspacepro.com/_hb/optout). We record how you first arrived at the site (for example a search engine or an ad) so we can measure which sources bring requests. We do not use third-party advertising trackers. Our forms use a hidden anti-spam field and rate limiting to block automated abuse.

How we use information

• To respond to your inquiry and arrange the free inspection you asked for.
• To pass your name, phone number, email address, service address and job description to the independent local contractor assigned to your request so they can contact you by phone, text, or email and schedule the inspection. We may be paid by that contractor for the referral.
• To check that a service address is real and to prepare the inspector (for example, the age of the house from public property records).
• To measure how well this site works: for example how many requests we receive each month, from which areas, and for which kinds of work. Reports we share with contractors are aggregated and do not identify you.
• To send transactional text messages if you have opted in (see below).
• To secure our site, prevent spam and abuse, and keep records we are required or permitted to keep.

SMS text messaging

You may choose to receive text messages from HotStart Labs on behalf of Charlotte Crawl Space Pro by checking the unchecked SMS consent box on our inspection request form, or by saying yes when our phone agent asks whether it is okay to send you text notifications about your appointment. Consent is not a condition of purchase.

• What we send. Messages about your inspection request, such as scheduling, appointment confirmations and reminders, arrival notifications, follow-ups, and replies to your questions. We do not send promotional marketing texts.
• Frequency. Message frequency varies with your request, up to 5 messages per inspection request.
• Rates. Message and data rates may apply.
• Opting out. Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts. Reply HELP for help, or call (704) 504-7283.
• Carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
• Terms. Full program terms are in our SMS Terms and Conditions.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All other categories of sharing described in this policy exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties. Your phone number is given to the assigned contractor only so they can reach you about your inspection. Your text-message opt-in and consent records stay with us, and the contractor is not authorized to text you under this program.

How we share information

We share information in these ways and no others:

• With the contractor handling your request. Each inspection request (name, phone, email, service address, and job description) is shared with one independent, Charlotte-area crawl space contractor so they can contact you and provide the inspection. We may receive a referral fee from that contractor. Because we may be compensated, this transfer may count as a "sale" of personal information under some state privacy laws. Once shared, the contractor's own privacy practices apply to their copy of your information; we require them to use it only to respond to your request.
• With service providers that process it on our behalf, such as Cloudflare (hosting, storage, email delivery, and bot protection), Twilio (telephony and messaging), and the providers behind our automated phone assistant and scheduling. They may not use it for their own purposes. Address checks query public sources (the U.S. Census geocoder and NC OneMap property records) with the service address only.
• When required by law or to protect our rights, our users, or the public.

We do not share your information with data brokers, lead marketplaces, or more than one contractor per request, and we do not use it for marketing unrelated to your request. If you do not want your information passed to a contractor, please do not submit a request; if you change your mind after submitting, email us right away and we will withdraw it if it has not already been sent.

Retention and security

We keep form submissions, call records, and message logs for as long as needed to handle your request and maintain business records, then delete or anonymize them. Data is stored with Cloudflare in the United States. All traffic to this site is encrypted in transit, and access to stored data is limited to the people who need it.

Your choices

You can ask us to correct or delete your information, to stop contacting you, or to opt out of having your request shared with a contractor, by emailing sales@charlottecrawlspacepro.com. We will also pass a deletion request on to the contractor who received your request. You can stop text messages at any time by replying STOP.

Children

This site and our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the effective date above. Material changes to our text messaging practices will be described on this page before they take effect.
